New rules go into effect today for all of Volusia County about watering restrictions.Although we have experienced a record amount of rain lately, there is still concern about the level of our water tables.In an effort to conserve our water supply, the county has set up watering restrictions effective June 1, 2009.
· No watering for homes and businesses between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. · During daylight saving time, residential irrigation will be based on address number. · Even numbered addresses - water on Thursday and Sunday. · Odd numbered addresses - water on Wednesday and Saturday. · During the months of standard time, watering will be restricted to: · Saturday for odd numbered addresses · Sunday for even numbered addresses · Tuesday s for businesses. · You will be limited to no more than three-fourths of an inch or one hour per zone. The county will be conducting a public information campaign before beginning to strictly enforce the restrictions in August.This will affect the unincorporated areas as well as inside city limits.
